For large (from about 50 people) to very large groups (+500), the seminar ‘The Power of Connection’ has been developed. The event boosts the Corporate Identity as well as the interconnection (read: collegiality) of the participants. It refreshes the relationship and provides new self-insight. Theory and practice alternate dynamically. Each seminar is tailor-made; tailored to the group, the available time and the chosen location. The choice of music and the level of theory – which can be taught in a popular or scientific way – vary from company to company. Afterwards, the results of the seminar will be visible and felt even when working online.
I’d love to tell you more about the “Power of Connection” seminar in my ebook “The DanceScan Phenomenon.”
During the DanceScan with JanPieter, my colleagues and I had an experience that we have not forgotten and that we have often talked about. Based on our movements, JanPieter was able to give us very concrete and specific personal character traits. The observations did not remain at the surface and were often surprising, sometimes confrontational but always correct. JanPieter is very flexible in his approach and through his open attitude and mind and good humor, JanPieter knows how to create an ambiance in which participants feel at ease and become receptive to his observations. I am very impressed by JanPieter and his ability to read people through their dance.
Ofcourse I understand this question. It has everything to do with the fact that it is beyond imagination. Although… no one will ask Armin van Buuren or Tiësto that question. Everyone has an idea about that. But to be honest: it is not given to everyone to guide very large groups to dance. It requires experience, expertise, a good team and thorough preparation. The music must be tailored to the target group, as well as the audiovisual presentations and effects, the location and the interior of the auditorium. And the technology must be perfectly in order and under control. There is really something involved. Personally I am always glad that I was able to present so many massive dance events in the Netherlands in the first 20 years of my dance career. “If you can make Dutch people dance, you can make the whole world dance,” I always say smiling. I then feel like a conductor who leads a symphony orchestra including a large choir. You have to be born for that!
JanPieter’s work always touches me deeply. He awakens clear knowledge in me. And through his way of working he brings a group closer together. I was therefore very curious how he would have converted his work into an online workshop during corona times. Because can you dance and connect online? And if so, how? The answer is ‘Yes’. JanPieter can do that. In an inimitable way.
After all attendees are seated, the program starts -as an icebreaker- with The School of Life’s video ‘The importance of dancing like an idiot’. This is followed by a happy warm-up where everyone imitates me. Then a scientific substantiation, including brain scans. After that, as a demonstration, I scan a few guests in the company who have expressed their willingness to do this in advance. We then divide the group into groups of three people. One of them will move to music while the others observe, dance and scan. There will be an exchange of the observations and a review of their accuracy. After three rounds, we create new groups and repeat the exercise based on different music each time. Each part is being carefully monitored by me. To bring the seminar to conclusion I give asummary, in which I go back to the scientific basis and mention the many possible applications: both at home and at work (even when collaborating online). As icing on the cake, we end with a happy final dance.
JanPieter’s DanceScan leads to joy, insight and curiosity. Happiness because it is nice to be seen for who you are. Insight because you almost always hear something you didn’t know about yourself. And curiosity because you wonder: how does Jan Pieter do that? We have worked with large groups live and online several times, always a warm and safe atmosphere with astonishing results.
